Three Tips to Making Your Diet Healthier

Adopting a healthy eating plan is always a mixed experience. While you have the optimism of waiting to see the results of your efforts, there is always going to be some sense of loss at the things you have to cut out of your diet. This means that you’re going to have to have something more than optimism in your corner for those times - which will inevitably come - when you start to have doubts about the overall effectiveness of your plan.

So much of dieting is essentially one long negotiation with yourself. If you cut out carbs, you can enjoy that week-long beach holiday. If you eat sensibly for a month, you can treat yourself on your birthday. If you lose x amount of weight within six weeks, then you can reintroduce some of the foods that have been declared out of bounds in those six weeks. In short, if you want a diet to work out, you need to stack those negotiations so that the “sensible” you always has the upper hand.

Preparing Your Face For Your Bridal Portrait

There is one thing that every bride knows: there is never enough time to prepare for your big day. You could always do more. Admittedly, it has a lot to do with self-confidence. Getting married is an emotional moment, and you want to look and feel your best on the special day.

If you are concerned about the bridal portrait, you likely have already scheduled all the necessary skincare appointments. The bridal portrait is the traditional session that showcases your look before the wedding. The dress receives a lot of attention, but most photographers will also include close up shots of your face. The right makeup and hairstyle can do a lot for you. But when all the attention is on your face, you don’t want anything to distract from your energy.

Therefore, you want to focus on managing all issues and discomfort with your eyes, smile, skin, facial hair, and nose ahead of the wedding. It will give you that extra boost of confidence.

Unique Handmade Jewellery by Treaty

Today on the blog I'm excited to introduce the most amazing jewellery brand based in and inspired by the coastline of St Ives, Cornwall which is one of my favourite places in the UK. Treaty Jewellery is a family owned business, founded by mother and son: Maggie and Josh over 10 years ago but now run by Josh and his partner, Florence who is the nicest person ever and super glam!

Treaty design unique handmade silver plated jewellery, that is 100% recyclable and hypoallergenic, asserting themselves as a leader in ethical manufacturing and sustainability. What makes their jewellery so unique is that they use .925 silver plating onto an aluminium core which creates a beautiful, burnished silver which is both hard wearing and durable. Besides their amazing, high quality jewellery I also love that Treaty use real, un-edited women in their campaigns, they've even posted my pictures a few times on their instagram which I really appreciate.

I was given four jewellery pieces to review from Treaty at a discount, scroll down to see the gorgeous, hand made pieces!

For our six year anniversary we stayed in the small seaside town of Braunton, North Devon close to Croyde, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe so as you can imagine there was plenty of choices for food and drink. Being that my fiance Blake can only dine at places offering gluten free options, I always do extensive research and wanted to share the gluten free places we found.

The Striped Linen Midi Dress from Boden

For June, Boden's key message is "wear the rainbow" as they're a brand that loves to embrace colour which is something I have been trying to do recently. Instead of opting for the same style of clothing, I'm trying to be more daring and have fun with my outfits especially as we go into summer.

Tips for planning a wedding abroad in Portugal

With 25% of marriages now taking place abroad and in total 340,000 destination weddings take place each year, getting married abroad is a popular choice. And also the choice for me and my fiance Blake. We got engaged in September 2019 and always knew that we wanted to get married abroad being that the weather is not always great in the UK and we saw it as being more cost effective than the UK. The average wedding in the UK now costs £30,355 which is a crazy amount in my eyes to spend on one day. I know being the budget savvy person I am I can plan our special day, way cheaper abroad.

Now our wedding planning abroad is in full swing I thought I would share some tips with all my readers who may be planning their wedding abroad like me.

How to update your kitchen cupboards on a small budget

Living in our apartment for the last five years, we started to get bored with our plain pine kitchen cupboards so decided with a bit of paint and new handles we could give them a refresh to match the rest of our decor and give our home a completely different look and feel. Below I show you how to transform your kitchen on a budget without having to buy a brand new kitchen that would cost you thousands.

3 Simple Tricks to Make Your Bedroom Comfortable and Cosy

Your bedroom should be your sanctuary - a place you can go to relax, unwind, and get a great nights sleep. The average person spends seven years of their life actually just trying to fall asleep. When you have a bedroom that allows you to feel comfortable and cosy, you can shave some of that time away.

But, the bedroom often gets ignored when it comes to decorating in favour of the more ‘public’ areas of the home. So, how can you transform your bedroom into a space that is as cosy as the rest of your house without spending a lot of time or money?

Weatherproof Fashion with Lighthouse Clothing

In the UK we get our fair share of rain, so I myself invest a lot in practical, casual clothing to keep me dry and warm. That being said I love finding new brands to try, so when lighthouse clothing got in touch asking if I would like to try some of their designs I jumped at the chance. Designed in Northern Ireland their inspiration comes from their love of the coast and their desire to make life a little simpler. Which I feel fits my style perfectly, I love nothing better than throwing on a simple tee or shirt with jeans and a jacket and taking the days as they come.

5 Ways To Add Value To A Property Before Selling

A home is a major investment, one that should increase in value over time. House prices in developing areas tend to go up naturally year-by-year, and if you keep the property in good shape, you’re likely to walk away with more money than you put in.

But the profit you are able to make when you sell, depends on the value you’re able to add to the property whilst it belongs to you. Home improvements, structural developments, and updated interiors can make a big difference and smaller details will impress potential buyers when they come for a viewing.

So whether you’re about to move house and want to smarten the place up, or have just moved in and want to invest in some long term home-improvements, check out the list below for some value-boosting ideas.

How to minimize toxic chemicals inside your home

In the current climate, where we are spending most of our time indoors all day, you are actually spending a lot of time in a rather polluted environment. In fact, there could be increased exposure to toxic chemicals. In particular Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) which are toxic chemicals emitted by many of our everyday consumer products and household items. Studies have shown that excessive exposure to VOCs can cause several health issues, including headaches, nausea, loss of focus and coordination plus many more issues. How do you avoid VOCs in your home and minimize air pollution? Here are some tips.

The Boden Susannah Shirt Dress

March is finally here and with it hopefully comes some spring like weather and of course plenty of colourful flowers like these wonderful daffodils, which made the most glorious backdrop for my blog photos. So happy I live close to the Cotswolds!

Tips for Choosing a Wedding Theme

For many of us, the idea of getting married can be exciting enough, and sometimes an overwhelming (yet positive) fact to be wrestled with. It means that we’re finally going to tie the knot with someone we adore, and that in itself is cause for celebration. A wedding is also important in that it allows you to make a public declaration of your love, in front of your family and friends. It can serve as a momentous event both of you will cherish for the rest of your lives.

Of course, when your excitable emotions start to settle, you may realise that no wedding arranges itself. A lot of planning competency is required to help you structure this event in a manner that works for both of your tastes. It’s unlikely that you’ve planned many weddings before, unless you have a range of older siblings or this is your job to begin with.

This is where the fundamental questions can start to seem much more complex than they actually are, as you plan to get things right. For instance - how on earth are you supposed to theme a wedding in the first place? Thats a question I asked myself after I got engaged in September.
