Styling for Gemini Woman

Work doesn't have to be dull especially when you work in Fashion. Last Thursday I got the chance to style food blogger Janey Green as she will be our new food writer for the Gemini blog sharing her healthy recipes and tips for us to all get that summer bod!

I had never met Janey before so I planned outfits from what she had told me about her style she tended to shy away from bright colours but a lot of our new collections are bright so I wanted to try her in something new and different.

The first outfit I put together for Janey was a Sandwich Clothing Tencel Chambray Dress which I particularly love because its plain so you can throw whatever colours you want on it, I went with orange this time as the scarf is new and had hints of orange which went well with the little bag and wedges.

The second look I wanted to show off Great Plains Lemon Diamond Days Blazer which I layered over an Avoca Horti Top which had hints of lemon and then finished off with my favourite jean brand French Connection which were a perfect fit on Janey.

The third outfit I went for another bright colour AQUA. In the Gemini office we have all be oooing over this Avoca print as it comes in a top (below) and a dress! I styled it with Sandwich White Cropped Jeans and Elia B Sandra Ballet Pumps which are a new brand for Gemini their shoes are gorgeous! The massive bag by Sandwich is great as you can fit lots in it and even use it as a beach bag!

The next look I went for more softer, neutral tones with Sandwich Clothing Triangle Mix Top  which has a slight flare for a girly finish with Great Plains Beige Skinny Jeans.

Janey even brought us in some yummy treats - chocolate dipped grape fruity pops

For a more dressy occasion I styled Janey in the Great Plains Night & Day Culottes (which were spotted in Woman magazine about a month ago) with a Great Plains White Date Night Tee tucked in for a monochrome look. I haven't actually tried any culottes myself yet and am eager to see what they look like.

The final look was an Avoca Plume Knot Dress which was actually Janey's favourite outfit, this piece is so versatile as you can wear it for evening below with a little Becksondergaard Granny Clutch or throw on a French Connection Denim Jacket to make it more casual for Spring.

I was so happy to hear at the end of the shoot that Janey loved all my outfits and it was an absolute pleasure for me making her feel pampered for the day, she is so easy to talk to and very inspiring about healthy eating, she put me right at ease. Take a look at Janeys Blog and keep an eye out on the Gemini blog for her recipes every Friday!

The Cropped Jeans

Do you remember pedal pushers as a teenager? Well I certainly do my mom used to buy them for me all the time but now cropped jeans are a similar style but with a nicer name!

These lovely Great Plains Yoyo Checked ones are a great fit on me and I love the unique check pattern I haven't seen it on any other brand. When it's in-between seasons like now ( what is the weather doing?!) its great to cover your legs but leave them a little cool aswell.

I styled these jeans with a beautiful soft and cosy Noa Noa Jumper in a pastel blue. Noa Noa is designed in Denmark & started in 1981. The name Noa Noa means ‘simple and harmonious’ in Tahitian, and epitomises the feminine and bohemian Noa Noa universe. I had never heard of this feminine brand until I started my job at Gemini and I fell in love straight away!

The white plimsolls just add a little extra to this casual comfy look

Will you be wearing cropped jeans for Spring?

How to Wear Snakeskin Fashion

This weekend I headed to Kettering to see my university friends while there we went to this amazing restaurant/bar Kino Lounge with the décor being reclaimed and antique furniture and fittings. The place had a fun welcoming feel like no where I'd been before the exposed brick made it even cooler! I had a yummy strawberry milkshake & pulled pork panini perfection!

Love a vintage lamp!

The girlies!

For the outing I wore H&M Snakeskin Jeans (£7) yes my wardrobe is basically made up of H&M with Great Plains white top from Gemini (£25) Zara black biker jacket & New Look Boots.

Snakeskin is a massive trend at the moment & you can either mix it up with accessories or wear one key item! I even made a polyvore board with Gemini's Sandwich Collection.

I love this top as its neutral so goes with lots in my wardrobe!

Florals & Backpacks

The backpack craze is everywhere right now, a nineties favourite & seen on lots of celebs including Cara Delevingne. They are great for multitasking as us women are the best at ha because you haven't got an annoying bag falling off your shoulder!

I styled this Bessie London Carrie Navy Backpack one which comes in more colours, with a Twist & Tango floral Leona shirt as we know florals will be big for Spring this one is quite oversized aswell so could be worn with leggings aswell. The light blue skinny jeans  are so skinny and the perfect length for me.

Bessie London was founded in 2006 in Hackney Road London.
I've mentioned my love for Twist & a Tango in previous posts there is not one item in the collection I do not like. Shop there collection here

Have a great day!

Weekend in Wales

On Saturday me and the boyfriend headed too Wales for his birthday. I've never been to Wales before but now I know they have a lot of sheep, rubbish phone signal but they have this amazing attraction Bounce Below where it's literally trampolines & slides in a slate cavern!
If you want to bring your inner child out this is the place!

(My helmet looks fashionable right?!)

I have to admit I was so scared at first as I hate heights but once I got into it I felt a bit more relaxed and unfit ha

Whilst there we also went to Harlech beach which was very cold if only it had been summer!

Where we stayed is set in snowdonia national park so we got the chance to see Snowdon from a distance! I love that view!

Patterned Khaki

I love khaki at the moment so when I saw this lyocell shirt on H&M for just £6 I snapped it up and I thought it went perfectly with the patterned trousers also from H&M for just £5! Whole outfit there for just over a tenner! They also have a cheeky 25% off at the moment too valid until Sunday - 2961

The great thing about this shirt is that it's long enough to wear as a tunic over leather leggings

I sometimes find at H&M their trousers can vary in size but these fit me like a glove. Its nice to wear patterns once in a while instead of plain boring jeans, I may also wear these with a bright orange knit jumper for an alternative look.

I almost blend in with the trees with this shirt ha

I styled the 2 pieces with my Glamorous studded tan boots!

White, Grey & Lace

Coster Copenhagen, Twist & Tango & ASH footwear are brands that I had never heard of before until I started working at Gemini (which is nearly a year ago can you believe?!). Let's just say I'm hooked!
Coster Copenhagen originates from Denmark, the clean, organic lines and the bright colours of this cool Nordic style are also reflected in their style.

The lace sleeved sweatshirt is a truly unique piece that turns a boring grey top into an amazing key item for your spring wardrobe!

I love this photo Hannah took of me, my hair looks less frizzy for once ha

I styled the sweatshirt with Twist & Tango Sid Ankle Jeans  (£79) which have exposed zips on the front! This brand is Swedish and their  key values are fun, simple, personal and feminine which is everything we want from a brand right?!

The Ash Intense Nappa Wax Trainer in marble are a trend led piece its all about the white bottoms and snakeskin texture! I don't know any other shoe brand that make trainers quite like ASH.

This loose fitting style and sports luxe trend don't show any signs of slowing down for SS15, with these brands all embracing the comfort factor!

Tangerine

Tangerine was seen at NYFW for fall 2015 but from what I'm seeing its all over the high street right now including French Connection and Primark! I used to think I would never wear the colour but how wrong I am. Apparently orange is the new black?!

This weekend I went shopping in Oxford and of course Primark was calling my name and for good reasons the Spring collections have arrived good thing it was payday! I was immediately attracted to this crochet top (£10) and cut out flat shoes (£6)

I styled the top with a brown asymmetric zip skirt from H&M (£7.99)

While in Primark the other trend that was prominent was nautical stripes this frilled top was only £8 and the spotty glasses were £2!

Which trend do you prefer tangerine or nautical?
