Afternoon Tea at The Crazy Bear

The bank holiday weekend for me meant seeing the university girls who I hadn't seen for months! We planned in advance to go to the crazy bear in Beaconsfield for afternoon tea as we had always wanted to experience the luxury of it. If you have never heard of the crazy bear they are a group of hotels (3 in total) that are known for their distinctive decor and luxury accommodation.

When you arrive you are greeted by a bear (not a real one of course) and just stepping inside it's like arriving in Narnia (not that I have ever been) - animal heads on the walls, chandeliers, regal looking furniture they have it all. Even the toilets were made up of mirrors! The décor definitely speaks for itself.

The afternoon tea menu is £30 each which is more than I would usually pay but I'm glad I got to experience it. You are served traditional sandwiches, scones, cakes and not forgetting the tea. I opted for the flowering jasmine and lily. I enjoyed the scones the most as I've always been a scone and tea kinda' girl.

Inside people were dressed rather glam but I opted for my comfy striped trousers/culottes from Matalan (£6), New Look cami, River Island sunglasses and La Redoute sandals. Who said casual dressing can't be glam?

Have you ever been to the crazy bear for afternoon tea or stayed in the hotel?

Culottes are having a fashion moment especially in my wardrobe these navy ones by Dahlia are perfect for going from the office to drinks.

Similar to culottes these cropped leg trousers from Matalan are super stylish with their striped print. Pair with a white blouse and navy brogues.

The off the shoulder trend is still making waves in the fashion world and I can't get enough! This top from Dorothy Perkins is made for black or white skinny jeans. (PS. They have lots more items up to 75% off)

This mint dress from H&M looks so light for the heat wave were currently having and the colour is so fresh!

H&M lemon creped shorts (£3.89) & La Redoute white blouse (£8)

H&M off the shoulder blouse (£6) & denim shorts (£3.89)

I bought both pairs of shorts and the blouse from H&M at them prices I had to, their sale is amazing at the moment!

I can't decide whether I would suit the pyjama trend yet but I am seeing more and more celebrities and bloggers wearing these shirts so I may be convinced. (don't forget to use the discount code above)

Flying Tiger at Selfridges Birmingham

Having been a fan of Flying Tiger (formally just tiger) and their quirky affordable products for over a year now so you can imagine my face when I was asked to go to the new store opening in Selfridges and purchase whatever I wanted. It was happier than a tiger. (excuse the pun)

The new concession in Selfridges Birmingham is a big deal because its the first time the danish design store has opened an outlet inside another store. Officially opened on Friday 5th August (next to Cath Kidston) they offer an exclusive range of scandinavian products including homeware, toys, sweets, party wear, stationary etc.

This is everything I bought including a blue pillow which is great for travelling, moustache table tennis and an umbrella because well we live in England and does it ever stop raining?!

Homeware purchases included a flamingo glass £2 & cocktail shaker £7 this has been used to death already. Hot weather equals cocktails.

Plus a sewing kit (£4) to go with my sewing machine, candles (£3) which smell devine and tiger even make washing up seem less dull with these heart shaped sponges (£2) for the kitchen.

They sell a wide range of stationary & games for kids and ADULTS! I love the idea of a mini jenga for taking on holiday and a cute pen and chocolate notepad for work. It almost looks edible!

And last but not least chocolate & sweets! I went for some sour marshmallows, coconut chips and rice cakes. Even the packaging is quirky and fun!

Are you a fan of flying tiger? Have you been to the Selfridges concession yet?

Styling White Lace with Elysium Lux

Elysium Lux is a new brand on the fashion scene specialising in women's fashion, swimwear & statement accessories for those who want style for less. As you can already tell from my blog I am all about shopping on a budget so when the brand asked me to collaborate of course I said yes!

I chose the Layla three piece (£26) in a size medium (8) which fit me perfectly. The co-ord comes with an under bra, lace top and maxi skirt with a side split which adds that glamour appeal.

I have never worn a whole white outfit before but for Spring/Summer this is on trend and definitely a rememberable colour. I think this could be easily worn for a black tie event or a classy garden party.

I didn't add any accessories because I think the all white look with nude heels from Matalan is enough to give it that wow factor.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Johnny Loves Rosie Blogger Brunch

Last Friday I was invited to a blogger brunch at Cote Brasserie in the Mailbox Birmingham with fashion and accessories brand Johnny loves Rosie. They sell a wide range of hair accessories, bags, jewellery and watches and are even stocked at ASOS.

Having only been to a blogger event that I've planned before I was so excited to be invited to an event for a brand that I've loved for ages & based near Birmingham which is always a plus. Not only did I get to have some yummy brunch but I got to meet some lovely bloggers and find out more about the brand from the owner Victoria too.

For the blogger event I wore my new La Redoute shirt dress & ASOS camel pumps

When I arrived they had decorated the table with these cute boxes with Johnny Loves Rosie goodies inside including a lipgloss, nails, black choker, body gems & a personalised biscuit!

More Johnny Loves Rosie products including cute watches, cat ear headbands (perfect for fancy dress), on trend 90s velvet chokers & personalised clutches coming soon!

Modelling my black ribbon choker with white lace.

2 Year Anniversary in Wales

To celebrate our 2 year anniversary me and the boy stayed a bit closer to home and explored Wales again! We went to Tenby in Wales last time for our anniversary which we loved but we thought we would travel to a different part this time - Llanelli near the Gower Peninsula.

With all holidays you take in the United Kingdom you never know what the weather is going to be like but we were super lucky I even have the awful sunburn to prove it! We started the day by exploring burry port & its little lighthouse.

As the weather improved throughout the day we then travelled to Pembrey Country Park which has so much to do for everyone including the beach & mini golf. (I am pleased to say it was a draw)

We stayed at the 4 star stradey park hotel which have an amazing weekend offer for just £130 per night you get a 3 course dinner for 2 in their Samphires Restaurant and a full buffet breakfast. Great hospitality and thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Spacious hotel room with lovely decor.

The off the shoulder trend is still everywhere, lace is elegant for occasions like this and orange just screams summer!

Wearing ASOS lace skirt, Missguided off the shoulder top & Matalan heels.

I had 3 delicious courses for dinner including:

Starter -  Smoked haddock and spinach filled vol-au-vent topped with poached egg yolk and dill crème fraiche

Main - Slow braised lamb wrapped in Parma ham coated in lemon and rosemary with pommes Anna, caramelised onion chutney, buttered carrots and garlic and thyme jus

Dessert - Baked lemon cheesecake with a warm raspberry sauce

Sunday at the Mumbles, Wales

If you're looking for somewhere to visit in Swansea I highly recommend the mumbles about 30 minutes from llanelli, this marks the beginning of the Gower Peninsula’s coastline and the view is incredible. The sun took a bit longer to show it's face but was lovely walking along the promenade and victorian pier plus eating ice cream!

If you look close enough you can see the mumbles lighthouse completed in 1794.

How cute is this pineapple print?! Makes me crave a pina colada cocktail! Ha

Wearing La Redoute pineapple blouse & River Island Denim Culottes

Have you travelled to Wales recently?
