Cocktails and Caribbean Food at Turtle Bay, Leamington Spa

Before actually going to the Caribbean last year my first taste of the culture was at Turtle Bay in Leamington Spa and being a big fan of their food and cocktails already I jumped at the chance to review the Caribbean restaurant and bar. Turtle Bay is a chain restaurant across the UK but with a difference, they offer a cool Caribbean vibe as soon as you enter the door with fun, bright and colourful decor along with neon signs and Reggae music playing in the background to really set the mood whilst you indulge over a Caribbean feast.

Cocktail Tables at Turtle Bay

If you haven't heard of Turtle Bay and their delicious array of rum cocktails (2 for 1 cocktails everyday until 6.30 & from 9.30 - close) then in my opinion you haven't lived! And the best part is they have now introduced cocktail tables where you can relax, socialise with friends or family whilst enjoying food and cocktails. This also means instead of standing around the bar you can now reserve a table at the restaurant exclusively for cocktails at any time of the day, 7 days a week, enjoying table service throughout.

As well as cocktails you can choose from any of the food on their brand new menu which has so much choice whether you like spicy food or not. If you're in a big group you might want to try the sharing platters:

JUST JERK PLATTER
Marinated jerk wings, glazed pork ribs, beef patty, jerk chicken flatbread, sweet corn fritters, super green salad

VITAL VEGGIE PLATTER
Sweet corn fritters, crispy okra, jerk pit grilled mushroom & peppers with spicy jerk, halloumi and mango flatbread, plantain, super green salad

SEAFOOD PLATTER
Curried fish roti flatbread, chilli squid, crispy panko whitebait, sweet corn fritters, mango mole, herb mayo, super green salad

Our Turtle Bay Experience

Having been to Turtle Bay in Leamington Spa numerous times we have always received excellent and friendly service plus great Caribbean food and cocktails. This occasion was no different our waitress Liv was a lovely host who gave us time to check the brand new menu and answered any questions we had. For food we tried the seafood and jerk platters above which we didn't realise weren't very gluten free friendly for my boyfriend but he enjoyed the meat and it meant I could have a bit of everything! We did also order a side of sweet potato fries, dirty curry fries and grilled jerk halloumi which were all delicious. The great thing is you can pick any two, three, four or five of the sides for a certain price making it more affordable and easier to share.

One of the other things that attracts me and I'm sure others to Turtle Bay is their 2 for 1 cocktails everyday until 6.30 & from 9.30 until close because we all know cocktails can be expensive but not here! £7.25 for 2 cocktails what a bargain!

I have always had a favourite cocktail at Turtle Bay called Bahama Mama (Koko Kanu coconut rum, banana liqueur, pineapple juice, grenadine & bitters) but we were surprised and excited that since our last visit that they had so many new cocktails on the menu to try! I went for the Tingaling (gin, prosecco, elderflower, grapefruit crush) which is definitely competing with the Bahama Mama and Blake tried the Mojito and the Passion Rum Punch (dark rum, passion fruit liqueur, orange & passion fruit juice, lemon & bitters).

Overall we had a fab Friday night and can't wait to come back to try more of the new menu and cocktails! Big thanks to Turtle Bay for kindly inviting us. P.S please open in Stratford Upon Avon!

Have you been to Turtle Bay?
