Five Ways to Say Thank You

If you have someone who has done something great for you either at work or in your personal life this year, you will likely want to say thank you to them in a meaningful way. Depending on how big the gesture is, you might want to do something really special for them, and below I have a few great ideas which you can use.

Buy them a gift

The first and most easy way to stay thank you to someone in a more special way is to buy them a gift. If you have had a teacher who has been a great support your kids during the year, for example, you can buy them a tie from John Henric UK, a hamper with some chocolates and wine, or even just a pair of cufflinks. Anything is appreciated and you don’t have to spend the earth on a gift.

Make something

If you fancy yourself a bit of a crafty one and want to make your gift a bit more personal, you can take some time out to make something. If you are talented at art you could paint them a picture and put it on a canvas. If you love to bake, you can bake them some cupcakes in their favourite flavour. If you are a green-fingered gardener, you could plant them a succulent or some herbs and give that as a gift with instructions on caring for them.

Make it as fun as possible

You could say thank you to a friend or family member by arranging a day out with them somewhere like a theme park or the zoo or even think about doing an experience day with them such as a spa day. Trying something new with your friends or family will be a great experience and you can really show them how grateful you are for what they have done.

Pay for their food

A simple way to say thank you would be to arrange a lunch date with them, spend time talking and catching up, and then pay for their meal. It is a gesture which will be highly appreciated by them and it is a great excuse to see them and spend some quality time with them too. Food is the way to everyone’s heart so it is the ideal thing for you to do.

Just simply say it

Sometimes there is no better way to show your gratitude than to simply say thank you. Instead of coming up with lots of fancy ways to say you are thankful for their help, you can just go up to them and say it. Saying thank you might not seem enough for what they have done, but it will honestly be something that will make their day immediately. Being grateful and telling them how grateful you are is a way to strengthen the bond between you both and it will make them feel like a million dollars. Keep it simple in 2018 and simply say, thank you.

What way have you said thanks in the past?
