Inntravel UK Walking Holidays

When I start planning my holidays, I always think of going to Europe or further away but I am very blessed to be living in the UK where there are various cities to explore and what better way to do that then on a walking holiday with Inntravel. They offer many types of walking holidays all year round and whatever your fitness level, including self-guided, non-group walking, village-to-village walking and family trips.

I particularly love walking wherever I am in the world, I think it's the best way to get a feel for a place, but even if you loathe walking just think of the refreshing fresh air, exercise and amazing views of the countryside you could be experiencing. But also walking takes you away from the hustle and bustle of your ordinary life. It's sometimes nice to forget about our mobile phones and switch off from social media and the internet, this means you can interact more and reconnect with your friends, partner or children.

Who are Inntravel?

Established in 1984 and based in rural North Yorkshire Inntravel are known as slow holiday specialists, offering various walking, cycling and snow holidays to many destinations including Europe and the UK.
Their trips are carefully created meaning they can specifically suit your needs and wants even if you are an occasional walker or cyclist. A perk of booking with Inntravel is that your luggage is transported ahead, leaving you free to explore the wonderful landscapes at your own pace.

Introducing the #GastroTrail

I am taking part in Inntravel's #GastroTrail campaign particularly
focusing on their “Yorkshire Gastronomic Trail” holiday because I am a massive foodie and have always wanted to visit Yorkshire which is three hours north of my hometown of Stratford Upon Avon. With Inntravel self guide walking holiday you get to experience beautiful scenery, visit a variety of independent producers with behind-the-scenes access and also dine at Andrew Pern’s Michelin-starred restaurant, The Star at Harome. The gastronomic holiday ends in Malton, known as the Yorkshire Food Capital.

Five reasons to visit Malton, North Yorkshire include:
  •  The Malton Food Lovers Festival takes place on the 26th & 27th of May every year which contributes to the town’s Food Capital title and attracts over 30,000 people.
  • Shop til you drop at independent or Talbot Yard which is home to six entrepreneurial businesses: a bakery, coffee roastery, gin distillery, pâtisserie, butchers and gelateria.
  • Every second Saturday of the month they have a market day which includes local produce, live music, and cooking demonstrations.
  • Eat at restaurants with fresh, local ingredients.
  • The North York Moors National Park and the lovely seaside towns of Whitby, Scarborough and Bridlington are close by.
What other walking holidays do Inntravel offer?

According to
YouGov, walking and rambling vacations are the most popular activities among the respondents (both in the UK and overseas) from the last five years. So what are you waiting for? There are plenty more exciting holiday options at Inntravel including:

1. Being located not far from the beautiful Cotwolds, I definitely recommend a visit, especially if you're a photography lover like me! Inntravel's "A Cotswolds Treat" walking holiday means you get to visit Hidcote, Mickleton, Chipping Campden and Broadway plus experience the famous Pudding Club!

2. Having visited the Algarve, Portugal numerous times I would love to visit it's equally beautiful capital - Lisbon. Lucky for me and you Inntravel offer a walking tour with a visit to the Palaces of Sintra which looks like it's out of a fairytale.

3. Another walking holiday destination that perks my interest is Italy, having only ever been to Rome I really want to explore other parts including Sardinia. Inntravel offer three trips with various transport methods.

Have you ever been on a walking holiday?
