Josh Wood is a new hair brand on my radar created by the renowned British hairdresser and colourist Josh Wood whose clients include Elle Macpherson, Laura Bailey, Kylie Minogue, Mick Jagger, David Bowie plus many more. But not complete with just this, he is reinventing home hair colour as we know it. By creating a whole line of hair products for you to use at home which I have kindly been gifted to try and review.
Josh Wood Hair Dye Review
The hair colours from Josh Wood come with 100% grey coverage, PPD and ammonia-free, plus a specially formulated colour complex for added condition and shine. With 12 different base shades to choose from it can be hard to decide on a colour but if you're not sure what colour to choose you can speak to an interactive consultation here or email them a picture, which is what I did to get the closest hair colour match. They matched me to the 6.0 darkest blonde (£10) and then I customised it by mixing with a chestnut brunette Shade Shot Plus with your Permanent Kit to emphasise your hair's natural highs and lows. Get both for £15.
Inside the box was clear instructions on how to apply the product and also a barrier cream, deep conditioning treatment and stain removing wipes. On application I could already tell it wasn't like other home hair dyes, normally my hair can get quite itchy but this wasn't the case and after waiting 30 minutes for the dye to take affect, I washed the dye off and dried my hair. I couldn't believe how soft my hair felt and glossy it looked. The colour had a lovely brunette shine to it too and two weeks on this has lasted.

Josh Wood Hair Care Products Review
After dyeing my hair I then started using the Josh Wood specially-formulated shampoos and conditioners (£10 each) which contain advanced UV filters to prevent fade, plus saffron and turmeric to keep brunette hair glossy and vibrant. Their ultimate goal is to get fresher, healthier and bouncier hair.
When purchasing the shampoo and conditioner you can choose whether you have blonde or brunette hair and also the type of hair you have: frizzy or fine. I of course opted for the brunette and frizzy option being that my hair is naturally curly, but I can also be quiet fussy with what hair care products I use on my hair. Straight away after using these hair products for a couple of days my hair looked less frizzy and was so much easier to brush than before. I also love the smell of my hair after using the Josh Wood shampoo and conditioner.
Another product I was gifted from the hair range and that I swear by is the Everyday Mask (£15) which you apply and leave on for 5 minutes whilst in the shower. Created to lock-in colour, add shine, hydrate and deep-condition your hair, it really left my hair feeling fresh!
The final product I was sent was their Blending Brush which is for people who need constant root coverage and comes in five shades. You simply apply and dry in for semi-permanent cover which can last up to 3 washes.
