Budget friendly ideas for your bathroom decor

Decorating doesn’t have to be budget-busting. If you’re savvy, there are lots of design improvements you can make without spending a fortune. One of the most expensive rooms to redesign can often be the bathroom. However, using some of these ideas, this doesn’t have to be the case. Try a few of these budget friendly decor ideas for a new bathroom update without the price tag.

Update your bathroom fixtures

The fixtures like your taps and the shower head can change the look of a bathroom. Old fashioned faucets might be making your bathroom look outdated, but these can be quite cheap to change. Check DIY stores or scrap yards for cheap fittings, and change them for something more modern. Changing the bathroom fittings is simple to do, but if you’re not confident messing with the plumbing call in an expert, so you’re not calling a plumber in a panic because you’ve broken something!

Repaint your bathroom

If you have a small budget for your bathroom renovation, a new coat of paint can make a big difference. Bathrooms can often feel bland, and boring. Repainting freshens up a basic bathroom, can warm up a room that feels cold, or brighten a dark bathroom. If your tiles are dark, or dingy, these can be painted too. Use tile paint so water won’t ruin the finish. Painting your walls and floors make a real difference and don’t need to be expensive to change.

Accessorise your bathroom

If there’s not a lot that you can afford to change, then buy some new accessories to restyle your bathroom. Treat yourself to some fluffy towels in a colour you like. Look out for small details like soap dishes, hand soap dispensers, toothbrush holders, or even toilet roll holders. Add in bits like candles, plants or other chic decor touches. This gives your bathroom more personality, without needing to spend a lot or add too much clutter.

Add storage to your bathroom

Most bathrooms don’t a lot of built-in storage, which can make them quickly get cluttered, by the time you’ve filled it with all your toiletries. Add more bathroom storage so you can hide the clutter out of sight and out of the way. A rack of some sort for inside the shower is perfect for the items you use every day. Look for empty corners where you could squeeze in drawers or shelves for items you want to hide. Storage boxes can be useful for things like cotton buds, spare face cloths, or extra toilet rolls.

Freshen the bathroom grout

If your bathroom hasn’t been decorated for a while, then the caulk or grout between the tiles can get dingy, no matter how diligent you are about cleaning. If your tiles are in good condition, but the grout is looking less than perfect, just redoing the grout can make a real difference. Fresh grout instantly looks cleaner and brighter.

With some simple changes that can be done cheaply and quickly, you can freshen up your bathroom and make it look much better, with no need for a new bathroom suite or expensive remodelling.
