Ways To Transform Your Kitchen Into the Heart Of The Home

The old saying that kitchens and bathrooms sell houses has never been more true than it is in today's housing market. When the discerning purchaser is looking around a potential new home, they can be easily seduced by a luxury double shower, granite worktops, 3D resin flooring and sophisticated integrated appliances. People in the twenty-first century enjoy open plan living, the feeling of space and a kitchen that really is the heart of the home. This is the hub where heartbreaks are shared over coffee, families come together to celebrate birthdays, and new culinary delights are invented. If you want your kitchen to be the heart of your home, read on to discover just how easy it is to achieve.

Configure your kitchen

Living in an apartment I've always thought that for your kitchen to be the heart of your home you need a large space but we are lucky that our home is open plan so we are able to fit a round table and socialise whilst cooking.
If unlike me you don't already have an open plan kitchen diner, you could of course take a look at the configuration of your home and work out whether you can knock down a wall to create a more open plan feel or extend outwards to generate more space. This way you can adorn your room with a large dining table from a company like Old Charm Furniture, configure your kitchen so that you can chat with pals as you cook and select new modern cabinets for your new kitchen. If a large dining table may be out of the question, consider rejigging your kitchen to allow for a more sociable island.

Even if this isn’t possible and you feel like you have a kitchen that is way too small to be the heart of any interior, ensure that there is space for a couple of chairs and a table or even a small breakfast bar. Making an area that ensures you don’t have to be in the room on your own will make it feel more inclusive.
Let in more natural light

If your kitchen diner is situated at the rear of your home, but you only have small windows to let in natural light, consider installing
French doors to enable access to your garden and to allow more natural light to flood the space. People crave sunlight and are more likely to enjoy the area rather than retreat into the living room to watch the TV.

Make your kitchen more social

Creating opportunities for collective dining will ensure that the kitchen becomes the heart of your home. Host
dinner parties, invite family around for a barbecue and enjoy cooking meals every evening for your nearest and dearest. Make it a space conducive to modern living to encourage your loved ones to relax in your kitchen diner.

You could also utilise your room not only as a kitchen but as a new living area that is social, light and bright for yourself and guests. Throw in modern, comfy seating like a sofa or put in some entertainment like a small TV or a docking station to play your favourite tunes.

Your kitchen can be the heart of your home with a few simple tweaks. By making your kitchen open plan and brighter, more social and an entertaining space, you can revolutionise the way you live in your home.
