Festive Fun in the Midlands

My weekends have been packed in November and will be even more so in December as I'll be visiting family, friends and mainly just soaking up that Christmas spirit and having fun. I'm lucky that where I live in Stratford Upon Avon there is lots to do in the surrounding towns including Birmingham with their annual Frankfurt Christmas Market, which the organisers bring all the way from Germany. Here are just a few activities I have got up to so far...

BBC Good Food Show Birmingham

We visit the BBC Good Food Show every year without fail, because me and the boyfriend LOVE food and we get extra cheap tickets on Groupon. This is actually his 10th year, I think he deserves a medal for dedication. But anyway if you love gin, cheese, sauces, buying Christmas gifts and meeting talented chefs then this is the show for you! We mostly go because Blake is ceoliac and there are lots of options for him including Delicious Alchemy, when its scone its gone, the handmade scotch egg company, heck and many more.

Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market

We live under an hour from the city centre of Birmingham on the train so we can pop this beautiful festive Christmas Market every year. Attracting visitors for over 15 years, it is the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany and Austria. On offer is tasty German food, warm gluehwein in the cutest festive mugs, traditional gifts and live music. The market is on until 24th December so you still have time to visit.

All Things Wild

My family like to visit us in Stratford whenever they get the chance and I really wanted to find a fun day out where my two beautiful nieces could see Santa. I happened to come across All Things Wild located in Honeybourne, Evesham, a 20 minute drive from my home. Described as a fun all-weather family attraction, that has something for everyone (even the adults) it immediately caught my eye and the entry prices were really reasonable. Inside we found indoor and outdoor play areas with the biggest slide in the county, life sized dinosaurs in the dinosaur experience, go karts, and lots of amazing animals, including: reptiles, reindeers, lemurs, meerkats, wallabys, armadillos, chinchillas, goats, foxes and more! The grotto was inside a marquee and they went all out with the Christmas decorations for the kids, the whole day was a magical experience for us all and we cant wait to come back in the summer.
