Ways to Create the Perfect Bath

When it comes to getting ready, I am more of shower person because it's quicker to jump in and jump out when you're living life 9-5, there's no organisation involved. Where as a bath takes a lot more time because you have to wait for it to fill up and get the temperature right. But bear with me there are lots of perks which I have listed below. I always try to make time for a bath after a long week or on a Sunday because as soon as I have a bath, I feel like all my worries have gone away and I even feel happier in myself.

Listen to tranquil music

I think listening to music while you're in the bath is the perfect way to block out any surrounding noises and distractions. With music it can transport you to someplace else in your head anyway, bath time is "me" time and you especially need that if you have screaming kids running around. I recently came across this Panasonic Waterproof Bluetooth speaker which is actually waterproof! So no worrying about dropping it in the bath. The speaker is also compact, has 9 hours of battery life (hopefully not in the bath that long), wireless so you can move it anywhere and it can be controlled by an app on your phone wherever you are. There is also a great feature called multi room which means if someone else in your house wants to listen to a different song they CAN! Some of my favourite singers to listen to include Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding and Walking with Cars let me know in the comments who are yours!

Light some candles

Candles not only make your home smell lovely but they create a mood like no other especially if you buy an aromatherapy candle. They use scented oils and smells to bring a sense of peace and encourage your body to relax after a long day. You can get them in a variety of scents (vanilla is my favourite) which will also enhance your bathing experience. Candles can also be used to provide a soft, warm glow if you turn your bathroom lights off and place candles all around. Try not to buy tealights as these can be dangerous on a plastic bath.

Add some bubbles

Bubbles are not just for kids, oh no with the rise of brands like Lush everyone wants to add a bath bomb now and take a picture of it for Instagram. Bath bombs not only add bubbles but they change the colour of the water and can make your skin feel really soft, they also make the whole bath smell amazing.

Rest on a bath pillow

When having a bath you want to be as comfortable as possible so I recommend buying a bath pillow, they are so cheap I got mine at B&M. It means you have support for your head and can lye back and really relax and enjoy your "me" time.

Drink a glass of wine

After a long day at work, there's nothing better than getting home and enjoying a glass of wine but you can always drink this in the bath too! I have seen recently, you can even buy drink holders for the bath, like the one below, which I think are an essential!

Do you prefer baths to showers?

  2. Showers are normally the staple, but baths are absolutely perfect for that much deserved "me" time. The speaker looks fab, but how does the multi room feature work? Very intrigued.

  3. My perfect bath is a good bubble bath (I tend to use radox for the muscle therapy) some candles and of course a good film to chill away too! I might have to invest in a bath pillow tho!
