Packing for your Summer Holiday

On Saturday I am flying to Gran Canaria for my first beach holiday in 2 years excited is an understatement! Even though I have already been on holiday twice this year to Barcelona and Sweden they involved a lot more walking where as this one I am literally going to lay on a sunbed by the pool with a jug of sangria and not leave....heaven!

Before I go on holiday I love getting my summer wardrobe ready being a shopaholic there is nothing better than buying more clothes! I tend to create a holiday checklist in my head instead of writing it down.

First on my list was a straw hat and beach bag which I had as a birthday present (24 now, I am officially old!) from Matalan. They have a great holiday shop here

Another essential item is the bikini well in my case 7 one for each day of course! I always head straight to ASOS as they have a great selection. These green beauties are from New Look & Warehouse.

Beach towels are provided where I am going but I always take one anyway my blue paisley version is from Primark £8 they also gave a great selection of sunglasses too!

Maxi dresses are great for evening wear these two I got from boohoo for £6 each!

Did I also mention I am a hoarder of shoes especially sandals. I think I have pretty much every colour covered here!

Packing Tips

“When you figure out your suitcase, you figure out your life,” fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg

  1. Like me if you have a black suitcase make it stand out with a ribbon or stickers so you recognise it on the carousel.
  2. To save space and stop creasing, roll your clothes instead of folding them.
  3. To prevent your pressed powder or eyeshadow from cracking place pieces of cotton wool in between.
  4. Put your essentials in your hand luggage
  5. Stuff tops/underwear/socks and other small items into your shoes
Do you love holiday shopping?

  1. That's a lot of shoes to take, but then I suppose lying by the pool won't require many other clothes to go in your suitcase! That's a lovely hat to keep the rays away. Look forward to your holiday posts! x
