Ways To Give Back While Travelling

As you may know by now travelling is an incredibly fulfilling experience for me. It gives me the opportunity to experience new cultures, meet new people and broaden my horizons. As well as this, being well travelled can help us all grow as people as whilst also finding a great way to give something back. If you’ve seen all of the places that you want to see (I wish!) and you’re finding that your trips just aren’t as fulfilling as they used to be, you could see them as a chance to do some good at the same time as seeing a new part of the world, here’s some examples of how you can do it.

Volunteer whilst travelling

The most obvious way that you can give something back while you’re travelling is volunteering, which is something i'd love to do one day. There are so many different places that you can volunteer either on a short-term or a long-term basis. Most of the organisations tend to cover your accommodation costs etc. while you’re out there so you just need a bit of money to put in initially. Whether it’s building villages or schools or helping to teach English as a foreign language, volunteering is such a rewarding experience that everybody should try at least once in their life.

Sponsored Trips

If you’ve got an adventurous side, why not harness it and use it as a way to make some money for a worthwhile charity? Going on Global Adventure Challenges Charity Fundraising Events is an amazing way to raise a good amount of money for charity and have a crazy adventure while you’re at it. There are all sorts of options like cycling from London to Paris or walking the length of the great wall of China. You can get friends and family to sponsor you or even set up an online donations page if you really want to raise some big money.
Microloans

In a lot of countries around the world, you’ll meet people that are not as well off as you. A small amount of money to you can be incredibly valuable to some of the poorer communities in the world which is why there are organisations set up to help you offer microloans to people when you’re travelling. They’ll set you up with entrepreneurs around the globe that need investment so you can lend them the money that they need. There are opportunities to go and visit the companies that you’ve invested in and see just where your money is being spent. It’s a great way to set up a lasting relationship with people around the globe and invest a bit of money in their future.

Travel more responsibly

Even if you aren’t interested in volunteering or getting involved in any charity events, you can still travel more responsibly. There are all sorts of small changes that you can make while you’re in another country that make a big difference. For example, just deciding to shop at local places rather than the big supermarkets can really help people out. Being aware of your environmental impact is also important as well, examples include reusing a bag and using public transport.

Following these simple tips will make your travel experiences far more fulfilling.
